Opal Mae Hall, 90, Old Route 33(Mace Addition) Weston went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 20, 2015 in St. Joseph’s Hospital of Buckhannon following an extended illness. She was born in Orlando, WV on November 6, 1924: daughter of the late Marion John Blake and Charlotte Ethel (Skinner) Blake. On December 22, 1944, she married A. M. Warren Hall, who preceded her in death on May 12, 1973.
Mrs. Hall is survived by two daughters: Marcella Hall Linger and husband Marlin and Sayrann Hall Stalnaker and husband William both of Weston, 8 grandchildren: Ella Jean Hale, Lisa Michelle Arnold, Melissa Lynn Crowl, Dr. Edward Lee Linger, W. Todd Hall, R. Scott Hall, Stephanie Louellen Williams and W. Lucas Stalnaker, 26 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers: Faye J. Blake of Weston and Charles D. Blake of Horner, one sister: Nina E. Hardman of Horner, one daughter-in-law: Benigna Hall of Lake Alfred, FL and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Warren, Opal was preceded in death by two sons: M. Ralph Hall and Andrew Warren Hall, one daughter: Stella Pearl Hall, three grandchildren: Kim E. Hall, Andrew Wade Hall and Victoria Ann Hall, five brothers: Wayne Blake, Lijah Blake, Patrick Blake, Frances Blake and Bud Blake and three sisters: Susan Catherine Gould, Goldie G. Rogers and Edna Janie Ware.
Mrs. Hall, with her husband Warren, was co-owner of Green Valley Dairy and Beef Cattle Farms and Hall’s Mobile Home Courts. In 1954, they received the West Fork Soil Conservation Farm of the Year Award. She was a member of Broad Street United Methodist Church of Weston where she was a Sunday school teacher for about 30 years. When she was younger, Opal was very active with 4-H where she was an assistant 4-H leader for over 50 years, active with Methodist Youth Fellowship, Lewis County Farm Women’s Club, and PTA.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Monday, March 23, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Richard Justice officiating.
