Leland Fredrick  Kesner
Leland Fredrick Kesner, 76, of 661 Locust Avenue Weston passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at his residence following a sudden illness. He was born in Upper Tract, WV on August 30, 1939: son of the late Clarence Fredrick Kesner and Eva (Sinnett) Kesner. On August 30, 1962, he married Linda J. (Van Horn) Kesner, who preceded him in death on April 12, 2011.
Mr. Kesner is survived by three children: Janet Lynn Hatfield of Atlanta, GA, Lisa Diane Kesner of Weston and Michael Blair (Juanita) Kesner of Weston, four grandchildren: Melissa Diane Seabolt, Michael Fay, Gregory Fay and Bernard Fay, and four great grandchildren. He is also survived one sister: Hilda (Harold) Raines of Franklin, his companion: Suzanne Kuhns of Weirton and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Kesner retired from the United States Department of Agriculture with over 44 years of service. He was a graduate West Virginia University with a degree in Agriculture. He was a member of St Matthew United Methodist Church of Weston where he was active on many committees and part of the United Methodist Men’s Group. Leland was on the Board of the Directors of 911 in Lewis County, Habitat for Humanity and the building committee of the Judicial Annex of the Lewis County Courthouse. He was also a Rotarian and was also active in other local organizations. The community of Weston, St Matthew United Methodist Church and other civic groups will miss Leland’s active role in their activities.
Family and friends will be received for fellowship time at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Saturday, July 30, 2016 from 2-3 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Tim Conrad officiating. A graveside service will be held at a later date in the Kline Cemetery of Upper Tract, WV. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Leland may be expressed to the E-991 Center 201 Orchard Street Weston, WV 26452 or Habitat For Humanity P.O. Box 433 Weston, WV 26452.
