Charlene Iva Jane Linger, 77, of 218 Wilson Siding Horner passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2014 in Crestview Manor Nursing Home of Jane Lew following a brief illness. She was born in Upshur County on January 1, 1937: daughter of the late Gurvis Gould and Lyndall (Simmons) Gould. On October 13, 1952, she married Thomas Edward Linger, who preceded her in death on July 12, 2005.
Mrs. Linger is survived by four daughters: Susie Casto and Shirley (John) Shaffer both of Weston, Rose Linger of Buckhannon, and Angie Openo of Hartsville, TN, three sons: John Linger and Theodore Linger both of Horner and Roger (Anita) Linger of Hebron, OH, 9 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother: David Gould of Buckhannon, one sister: Louise Morris of Wylieville, WV and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Thomas, Charlene was preceded in death by one son: Michael Edward Linger and one sister: Isabelle Lemley.
Mrs. Linger was a homemaker. She was a member of the Horner United Methodist Church of Horner, WV. Charlene’s hobbies were crocheting and gardening. She loved her family and was a mom and grandma to many!
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 from 11 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Bob King officiating.
