Obituary for Velma May Heath

Velma May Heath, 89, of Orlando passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at her home following an brief illness. She was born in Lewis County on October 15, 1926: daughter of the late Alton P. Heath and Mina C. (Finster) Heath.
Velma is survived by one son: Kenneth Heath and Susan of Roanoke, one grandchild: Joy Mealey and Michael, one great grandchild: Elizabeth Michelle Mealey. Also surviving are two brothers: A. P. Heath of Georgia and Joseph Heath of Orlando, four sisters: Irene Wilt of Maryland, Leona Moneypenny of Buckhannon, Jean Summers of Florida and Mary Wall of North Carolina and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Velma was preceded in death by one brother: Clarence, and one grandson-in-law Roger Strader.
Velma was an employee of the old Weston Laundry and the Weston State Hospital where she retired in 1988. She loved gardening, flowers, reading, working puzzles, T.V. and spending time with her family.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Russell Furr officiating. Interment will follow services in the Finster Cemetery of Orlando, WV.
