Thomas Matthew  Sims
Thomas Matthew Sims, 73, of 124 E First Street Weston passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 in Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital of Weston following an extended illness. He was born in Lewis County on December 29, 1941: son of the late James Ralph Sims and Mildred (Hyre) Sims.
Mr. Sims is survived by six children and several grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother: James Lee (Dolly) Sims of Lodi, OH, three sisters: Melinda Sims, Martha Mayo and Marsha (Blue) Kandel all of Weston and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Sims was preceded in death by two brothers: Randy and James Francis Sims.
Mr. Sims was a janitor for the West Virginia Department of Highways. He was a Methodist by faith. He enjoyed reading, watching TV, listening to country music and watching football. But, he loved to eat at Giovanni’s Restaurant and visit with his friends.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Sunday, November 29, 2015 from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Bill Coffindaffer officiating. Interment will follow services in the Peterson Cemetery of Weston, WV. On-line condolences and life stories in memory of Tom may be expressed at hardman-palettifuneralhome.com.
