Sarah Davita Rohr Alfred Kisner, 87, of Weston passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 1:35 a.m. in Crestview Nursing Home of Jane Lew, WV. She was born in Alum Bridge, WV on February 18, 1930 : daughter of the late Sherwood J. Rohr and Emma F. Will Rohr. She had four siblings who preceded her in death: Joan Minter, Roberta Riggs, David Rohr and Stephen Rohr. Davita was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was married to the late George W. Alfred on October 23, 1947. She has five children who survive: Susan Alfred Lydon (Edward) of Weston, WV, Nancy Alfred of Bridgeport, WV, Kathy Alfred Amodio (Larry) of Bridgeport, WV, Michael Alfred (Debby) of Weston, WV and Stephen Alfred of Camden, WV and one very special niece: Patricia Alfred Smith (Larry) of Weston, WV. Davita is also survived by seven grandchildren: Joyce White(Kevin) of Martinsburg, WV, Nancy Campbell (Doug) of Raleigh, NC, Janice Lydon of Weston, WV, Audra O’Dell of Bridgeport, WV, Chad Amodio (Rachel) of Charlotte, WV, Traci Amodio of Hendersonville, TN, Stephanie Alfred Smith (Brian) of Prospect, IL, Courtney Moore (Jerry) of Bowling Springs, SC, and Tyressa Rohrbough of Weston, WV. She also has nine very special great grandchildren.
On April 25, 1984, Davita married Charles H. Kisner who preceded her in death. She was also survived by two step sons: Charles Kisner (Jeannie) of Alabama, David Kisner of Florida along with several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Davita obtained her RN nursing degree from Salem College. She used her nursing degree at the Weston State Hospital and also as a traveling nurse in the New England area and Florida. As a nurse, her compassion and caring for others was witnessed by those whose lives she touched. Sarah was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Buckhannon.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Monday, October 16, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church of Camden, WV with Father Joseph McLachlan as celebrant.
