Robert Russell Saunders
Robert Russell Saunders, 78, of Lynn Avenue Weston passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 in Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital of Weston following a brief illness. He was born in Weston on November 20, 1937: son of the late Otis Saunders and Edith (Lorentz) Saunders. On July 26, 1981, he married Sharon (Brady) Saunders, who survives.
He is also survived by one daughter: Christina (Carl) Stonestreet of Weston, one son: Timothy (Tiffany) Wine of Barracksville and five grandchildren: Blaine and Hunter Jones, Taylor and Ethan Wine and Sasha Stonestreet. He is also survived by one sister: Delores Boyles of Salem, several nieces and nephews and one brother-in-law: Jesse Crites of Charlotte, NC. In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by one brother: Otis Saunders and one sister: Bernice Myers.
Mr. Saunders was a retired psychiatric aide with Weston Sate Hospital. He was a graduate of Weston High School and a member of the Grace Baptist Temple of Jane Lew, WV. Robert loved watching WVU ball games and most of all spending time with his grandkids. Robert was a veteran of the United States Army.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Saturday, December 19, 2015 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Clifford West officiating. Interment will follow services in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens of Jane Lew, WV. On-line condolences and life stories in memory of Robert may be expressed at hardman-palettifuneralhome.com.
