Mildred Jean Lowther, 81, of Weston passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 in Crestview Nursing Home of Jane Lew following an extended illness. Mildred had lived at Salem Nursing Home until October 1, 2015.She was born in Lewis County on February 15, 1934: daughter of the late Otto Lawson and Gertrude (Devericks) Lawson. On May 3, 1979, she was married to Bobby J. Lowther, who preceded her in death on February 10 1988.
Mrs. Lowther is survived by one brother: James Lawson of Lexenia, KS, three sisters: Owedia Lewark of Clarksburg, Lucille Wimer of Weston and Shirley Kern Buckhannon, who was her caregiver for the past 3 years and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Bobby, Mildred was preceded in death by three sisters: Evelyn Adams, Lucy Dunham and Wilma Lawson and on brother: Willis Lawson.
Mrs. Lowther retired from Jackson’s Mill State 4-H Camp. She enjoyed gardening and NASCAR.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Friday, October 16, 2015 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 3 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Johnnie Cole officiating. Interment will follow services in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens of Jane Lew, WV. On-line condolences and life stories in memory of Mildred may be expressed at hardman-palettifuneralhome.com.
