Mary Jean  Radcliff (Posey)
Mary Jean Radcliff, 72, of Canvas, WV passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at her son’s home following a brief illness. She was born in Weston on May 28, 1944: daughter of the late James O. Posey and Lula M. (Blake) Posey. On January 15, 1961, she married John Waitman Radcliff, who preceded her in death on January 16, 2012.
Mary is survived by two daughters: Mindi McGill and husband Ken of Streetsboro, OH and Shelly Fallon and husband Randy of Weston, two sons: Robert L. Hawkins, Jr. and wife Rhonda of Edmonton, KY and John W. Radcliff, II and wife Kathy of Summersville, 18 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers: Francis Posey and wife Cam of Weston and Bernard Posey and wife Debbie of Jane Lew, two sisters: Carol Posey of Jane Lew and Debbie Arce and husband Carlos of Lincolnton, NC, one son-in-law: Ron Hart of Clarksburg and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, John, Mary was preceded in death by one daughter: Connie Louise Hart, one brother: Eddie Posey, and three sisters: Beatrice Posey, Martha Rowan and Loretta Posey.
Mrs. Radcliff was a retired psychiatric aide at Weston State Hospital and in later years was a manager of Frank’s Bakery of Weston. She was a member of the Weston Church of God for several years and recently has attended the Calvary Baptist Church. Her hobbies include fishing, watching Westerns on TV and reading. One of her greatest joys was cooking for family and she made sure no one went home hungry.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Friday, September 2, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Randall Hughes officiating. Interment will follow services in the Peterson Siding Cemetery on Oil Creek Road in Roanoke, WV.
