Karen L. "Sis"  Bailey (Moody)
Karen L. “Sis” Bailey, 74, of Pricetown, WV passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at United Hospital Center of Bridgeport with all her family at her side. She was born in Weston on June 16, 1942: one of six children of William L. Moody and Madeline (Lamb) Moody. Karen was married in 1959 to Charles L. Bailey, who preceded her in death on February 12, 1986.
Karen went to Weston High School and then was employed as a psychiatric aide at William A. Sharpe Hospital with a career of 38 years. Upon retirement at the state hospital, she was employed by Pricetown Stop N Shop, which were her extended family and she loved every minute. She was an avid WV Mountaineer fan enjoying both football and basketball games. Her favorite pastime was to travel with her friends, enjoying her flowers and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Karen had two children: Ann L. (Michael) Determan and Jeffery W. Bailey and Kelly Finkel both of Weston, five grandchildren: Josh Bailey and Brittany (Eric) Dever both of Weston, Benjamin S. Determan of Morgantown, Samantha A. Determan of Bridgeport and Zack Finkel and four great grandchildren: Brice Bailey, Paisley Dever, Cooper Dever and Lacy Dever all of Weston. Also surviving are two sisters: Jane Moody Blake and the late Mike Blake and Mary (Harold) Taylor all of Weston, two brothers: Richard L. (Patty) Moody and James D. (Susan) Moody of Weston, several nieces and nephews and one sister-in-law: Shirley Moody of Weston. In addition to her parents and husband, Charles, she was preceded in death by one brother: Robert L. Moody.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Russell Furr officiating. Interment will follow services in the Rock Grove Cemetery of Linn, WV. On-line condolences and life stories in memory of Karen may be expressed at hardman-palettifuneralhome.com.
