Judith Ann Wood, 74, of Berlin Road Weston passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2015 in Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital of Weston following a sudden illness. She was born in Ritchie County on March 9, 1941: daughter of the late Russell Summers and Ruth (Britton) Summers and raised by the late Ardeth and Pearline Britton. On March 4, 1967, she married Edwin F. Wood, who survives.
Mrs. Wood is also survived by two daughters: Julia Kesler of Charleston and Kristina (Timothy) Beron of Troy, WV and three grandchildren: Aaron Kesler and Mya and Ryan Beron. She is also survived by two sisters: Twin sister: Janie Hinkle of Weston and Connie Rappa of Canton, GA and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by one sister: Cheryl Simonton.
Mrs. Wood was the secretary at the Episcopal Church of Weston for several years. Earlier in her life she was a bookkeeper for Dr. Lively’s Office in Weston. When she was younger, Judith attended the Stone Coal United Methodist Church and for the last seven years she has attended the First Baptist Church of Weston. She was a graduate of Weston High School with the “Class of 1959.” She loved arts and crafts and playing the piano.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Wednesday, April 1 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Kenneth Miller officiating. Interment will follow services in the Butchersville Cemetery of Turnertown, WV. On-line condolences and life stories in memory of Judith may be expressed at hardman-palettifuneralhome.com.
