Joyce Roberta Pratt, 77, of 41 Hickory Lane Weston passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2012 in Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital of Weston following an extended illness. She was born in Sumpter, SC on September 11, 1934: daughter of the late William Onnie Frierson and Lessie (Poston) Frierson. On October 21, 1954, she married Daniel W. Pratt, who preceded her in death on February 25, 1992.
Mrs. Pratt is survived by one daughter: Teresa Joyce Pratt of Weston and one son: Glen (Lisa) Pratt of Weston. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Nikki Bennett, April Perry, Christopher Pratt, Erica Markley and Tammy Hefner and 10 great grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother: Onnie Lee Frierson of Arizona, two sisters: Sadie Frierson and Patsy Carr both of South Carolina and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband Daniel, she was preceded in death by one great grandchild.
Mrs. Pratt was a loom weaver for Alkan Label Factory of Weston. She was a Southern Baptist by faith. She enjoyed reading, quilting and Bingo. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
At Mrs Pratt’s request, there was a private family viewing. Interment will be at a later date in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens of Jane Lew, WV. On-line condolences may be expressed at hardman-palettifuneralhome.com.
