Obituary for Joseph Kenton Wine

Joseph Kenton  Wine
Joseph Kenton Wine, 90, of Chapman’s Run Road Orlando passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at home with his family following an extended illness. He was born in Braxton County on December 10, 1924: son of the late Jesse Wine and Goldie (Posey) Wine. On October 17, 1947, he married Ava Wanda (Craig) Wine, who preceded him in death on September 1, 2006.
Mr. Wine is survived by eight children: Mahala Dean, Terry Wine and wife Janet and Alexander Wine all of Orlando, Delmas Wine and wife Connie of Myrtle Beach, SC, Vincent Wine and wife Janell of Orlando, Bill Wine of Jane Lew, Roberta Householder of Georgetown, OH and Lisa Tomey and husband Patrick of Weston, 22 grandchildren and 22great grandchildren. He is also survived by four brothers: Leonard, Franklin and Loy Wine all of Newport, TN and Lanta Wine of Seattle, WA, three sisters: Leona of Newport, TN and Vada and Bonnie both of Cambridge, OH and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife Ava Wanda, Joseph was preceded in death by one son: Jack Gum and three sisters: Hilda, Pauline and Wilma.
Mr. Wine was a farmer. During his life time, he was employed in many jobs including West Virginia Department of Highways as a Courtesy driver, Power company as a lineman, and long haul truck driver. He was a member of the Haleville Union Mission Church of Weston. Mr. Wine was a veteran of the United States Army during World War II serving in the Pacific Theatre. Joseph’s greatest joy was his church and family and will be missed by both.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Sunday, August 30, 2015 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 1 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Mike Riffle and Pastor William JB Gum officiating. Interment will follow services in the Wine-Cunningham Cemetery of Orlando, WV. On-line condolences and life stories in memory of Joseph may be expressed at hardman-palettifuneralhome.com.
