Jimmy Doyle Posey, 74, of 124 E 1st Street Weston passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2017 in VA Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA following an extended illness. He was born in Orlando, WV on December 22, 1942: son of the late Arnold Robert Posey and Nina Jane (Riffle) Posey.
Mr. Posey is survived by two sons: James (Amanda) Posey of Adrian and Jimmy (Deborah) Posey of Churchville and five grandchildren: Shawna Posey, Logan Posey, Chiara Posey, Xavier Lewis and Emerson Posey. He is also survived by two brothers Gary Lee Posey and Ernest Charles Posey both of Lewis County, three sisters: Linda Mae Smithson of Virginia, Brenda Mae McElfresh of Clarksburg and Cindy Hinkle of Weston and several nieces and nephews. Jimmy is also survived by his caregiver and friend: Cathy Marsh. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by one brother: Robert Posey and one sister: Dorothy Jean Posey.
Mr. Posey was a machinist with Moore’s Business Forms of Buckhannon and was a master mechanic with Chrysler Corporation where he won several Golden Tool Awards. He enjoyed motorcycles and guitar music. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Posey’s request to be cremated will be honored. A private graveside service will be held at the Point Pleasant Cemetery of Abbott, WV full military honors provided by the United States Army and the Lewis County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lewis County Senior Center 171 W. Second Street Weston, WV 26452.
