Obituary for Jack Lee Beck

Jack Lee Beck, 84, of McGary Avenue Weston passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2016 in Mon General Hospital at Morgantown following an extended illness. He was born on August 28, 1931 in Fort Wayne, IN : son of the late Paul Beck and Dorothy (Singer) Beck. On December 24, 1953, he married Estelle Y. (Wooddell) Beck, who preceded him in death on May 26, 2006.
Mr. Beck is survived by five children: Linda K. Norman and husband Michael of Lost Creek, Warren Gillespie and wife Vicki of Weston, Kenneth A. Gillespie and wife Elizabeth of Biloxi, MS, Rick Beck and wife Sharon of Weston and David Beck and wife Stacy of Zanesville, OH, 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 2 great great granddaughters. He is also survived by one sister: Marcella Quinn of Fort Wayne, IN, one ½ brother: Steve Woodward of Garrett, IN, one ½ sister: Cathy Bruggner of Fort Wayne, IN and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife Estelle, Jack was preceded in death by three brothers: Raymond, Jim and Fred Beck, one sister: Phyllis Decker and one ½ brother: Tommy Woodward.
Mr. Beck was a retired United States Postal Worker retiring as a supervisor. He is a member of the Weston Church of Christ. His favorite team was the Pittsburgh Pirates and hobbies included fishing and working Sudoku puzzles. His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Evangelist Gene Miller officiating. Interment will follow services in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens of Jane Lew, WV. Full military honors will be conducted by the Lewis County Honor Guard.
