Delores L.  Murphy (Spaur)
Delores Loraine Murphy, 85, of Gahanna, Oh , formerly of Sand Fork, WV, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2016 in Columbus, Ohio following an extended illness. She was born in Braxton County on November 21, 1931: daughter of the late Charles Spaur and Retha (Gregory) Spaur.
Mrs. Murphy is survived by two children: Tonya (Keith) Motsinger of Columbus, OH and Doug Murphy of Glenville and four grandchildren: Adam, Brooke, and Claire Motsinger and Amy Polph. She is also survived by three brothers: Bud, Rondall and Rexell Spaur all of Sand Fork, two sisters: Agnes Heater of Belington and Hilda Mace of Vienna and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Delores was preceded in death by one sister: Anita Tennant.
Mrs. Murphy worked at Camelot Music Company. In retirement she returned as a librarian at the Sand Fork Elementary School. At one time, Delores attended both the Weston Assembly of God Church and the Glenville Community Church where she was a worship leader. She enjoyed singing, was an avid reader and loved to garden. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 11 am until 1 pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1 pm from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Randy Wilson officiating. Interment will follow services in the High Knob Cemetery of Braxton County, WV. On-line condolences and life stories in memory of Delores may be expressed at hardman-palettifuneralhome.com.
