Connie Lou Fisher, 84, of 663 Lynn Avenue Weston passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017 at her home following a sudden illness. She was born in Flora, IL on March 27, 1933: daughter of the late Glenn Tibbs and Gladys (Burton) Tibbs. On June 11, 1950, she married Bill M. Fisher who was the love of her life for 40 years and who preceded her in death on March 15, 1990.
Mrs. Fisher is survived by three children: Rebecca Sparks of Morgantown, Jeff Fisher of Weston and Joe Fisher and wife Barbara of Morgantown and three grandchildren: Brian Sparks, Matthew Fisher and Lacy Jo Fisher. She is also survived by one brother: Dale Tibbs and wife Jane of Olney, IL, six nieces: Cindy Peters, Janice Pampa, Debbie Rauch, Donna Kuenstler, Wendy Kuhl, and Glenda Hagen and two nephews: Steve Tibbs and Larry Hagen. In addition to her parents and husband Bill, Connie was preceded in death by one sister: Donna Dunkin in 1965.
Mrs. Fisher was a housewife. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Weston where she taught Sunday school, helped with Baptisms, and took care of the Crib Room for several years and was active with the Guild Girls of the church and made favors for shut-in dinners. Her hobbies included crafts, reading and especially working outside. Connie will be missed by the church, family and her many friends.
At Connie’s request, there will be a graveside service at the Weston Masonic Cemetery on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Ken Miller officiating. Interment will follow services in the family plot beside her beloved husband, Bill. On-line condolences and life stories in memory of Connie may be expressed at hardman-palettifuneralhome.com.
