Clora Maurine Miller, 91, of 234 Dry Fork Road Weston passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2014 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born in Tioga, WV on August 18, 1922: daughter of the late William Edward Jones and Emma Jane (Cobb) Jones. On October 28, 1950, she first married Guy Garrett Ballard, who preceded her in death on October 8, 1981.On February 17, 1983, she then married Reedus R. Miller, who preceded her in death on January 19, 2011.
Mrs. Miller is survived by one daughter: Wanda (Dana) Moody of Weston and two sons: Eddie Ballard and companion Marcia Watson of Weston and Donald (Betty) Jones of Beaufort, SC. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Donald L. Jones, Jr., Christopher W. Jones, Lisa Hawkins, Melody Moody, Joni Heater and Ashley Brown, 11 great grandchildren: Savannah Jones, Madisen Jones, Matthew Jones, Andrew Jones, Lauren Jones, William Shane Hawkins, Sara Marie Hawkins, Tiffany Hawkins, Jeffrey Heater, Jacob Heater, Abigail Brown and Cassie Brown, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and two husbands-Guy and Reedus, Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by one son: William Eugene Jones. Mrs. Miller was the last of ten children, being preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
Mrs. Miller was a psychiatric aide at the Weston State Hospital and was a cook at the Copley School in Lewis County. She was a member of the Church of God of Clarksburg. Her hobbies while she was able were crocheting, quilting and working crossword puzzles.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Jason Horrocks and Reverend Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will follow services in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Jane Lew, WV. On-line condolences and life stories in memory of Clora may be expressed at hardman-palettifuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Mrs. Miller may be made to People’s Hospice 327 Medical Park Drive Bridgeport, WV 26330.
