Betty Jean Lovett, 76, of Clarksburg, WV passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017 in in Greenville, NC at the home of her daughter following a brief illness. She was born in Norfolk, VA on October 2, 1940: daughter of the late Archie Ellis and Lilly (Stallings) Ellis. On October 5, 1980, she married James Thomas Lovett, who preceded her in death on July 11, 2011.
Mrs. Lovett is survived by two daughters: Belinda (Walter) Smith of Greenville, NC and Melissa (Scott) Cliff of South Carolina, grandchildren: Grant and Brandy and great grandchildren: Jordan, Lieyha, Liyla and Raleigh. Betty had five siblings: Wooddell, Ken, John and Archie Ellis and Pat Sturgeon and several nieces and nephews. Betty is also survived by a special friend: Samuel Jackson.
Mrs. Lovett was a homemaker. She was a member of the United Methodist Temple of Clarksburg, WV.
Graveside services will be held Monday, February 27, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. from Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens of Jane Lew, WV. Interment will follow services in the family plot in Forest Lawn. On-line condolences and life stories in memory of Betty may be expressed at hardman-palettifuneralhome.com.
