Alvin Junior McCartney, 68, of Broad Run Church Rd. passed away on Monday, July 9, 2012 at home. He was born in Lewis Co. on May 22, 1943: son of the late Byron O. McCartney and Mildred Fay (Hawkins) McCartney.
Mr. McCartney is also survived by three sons: Larry McCartney of Missouri , Kevin McCartney & Maryury of California and Kenny McCartney & Carma of Horner; one daughter; Donna Smith & Steve of Jane Lew; ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by two brothers: Arnold & Elaine McCartney and Charles & Janie McCartney, three sisters: Carrie Bleigh, Nelma Bailey and Linda & Buddy Walker, and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. McCartney was a Journey lineman with 42 years of service, ending his career with Local #42. Alvin loved to fish, loved his children and family very much.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 from 12-2 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Pastor David Jessie officiating.
