Florence Lucille Ellis, 87, life long resident of Jane Lew, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 after an extended illness. She was born in Jane Lew on September 28, 1922: daughter of the late Charles Walter Cunningham and Lucy A. (Davis) Cunningham. On May 15, 1943, she married the love of her life, Harvey Warren Ellis, who preceded her in death on February 25, 1967.
Mrs. Ellis is survived by two sons: Kenneth T. Ellis and wife Sheri of Jane Lew and Randall N. (Randy) Ellis and wife Lynn of Forest, VA, 6 grandchildren: Crystal (Rob) Adams of Hurricane, WV, Tammy (Kevin) Linger of Buckhannon, WV, James (Rebecca) Ellis of Lincoln NE, Neil (Lisa) Ellis, Brad (Trista) Ellis and Brian Ellis and fiancé Maggie Woconish all of Forest VA and 2 great grandchildren: Evan and Ian Linger. Also surviving is one sister: Mary Lawson of Jane Lew and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by one brother: Charles “Junior” Cunningham.
Florence was an active member of the Message of Light Tabernacle of Weston for over 30 years. She brought joy and a smile to everyone she met.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Saturday, July 24, 2010 from 4-8 p.m. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with grandson: James Harvey Ellis, assistant pastor of Heritage Bible Church of Lincoln, NE and Pastor Martin R. “Bob” Hoover of Jane Lew officiating. Interment will follow services in the Broad Run Cemetery of Jane Lew.
