Obituary for Johnnie Marks

Johnnie  Marks
Johnnie Marks, 83, of Pennsboro, WV passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at his home following an extended illness. He was born in Marion County on July 26, 1934: son of the late Dana Marks and Della (Ables) Marks. On February 4, 1987, he married Delphia C. (Lester) Marks, who preceded him in death on July 30, 2010.
Mr. Marks is survived by three daughters: Sarah Marks of Pennsboro, Tosca Brandon of Deep Run, NC and Rhonda Surface of Milton, four sons: Gene Tony Marks of West Union, Johnnie I. Marks of Clarksburg, Carl Dana Marks of Fort Worth, TX and Chris Marks of Michigan and three step sons: Harvey Kent Lipps of Ohio, Roscoe Lynn Lipps of Ft. Worth, TX and Jackie D. Lipps of Clarksburg. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Delphia, Johnnie was preceded in death by three brothers: Jack, Fred and John Marks and three sisters: Ona Belle Parker, Jenny Detamore and Agnes Messenger.
Mr. Marks was a plant supervisor with Verilight Company in Tampa, FL. He was a member of the Independent Order of Foresters and the Grange Hall of Berea, WV. Mr. Marks loved to tinker with cars and paint them. His pride and joy were his apple trees.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Mitch Richards officiating. Interment will follow services in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens of Jane Lew, WV. On-line condolences and life stories in memory of Johnnie may be expressed at hardman-palettifuneralhome.com.
