James Robert Bucheimer, 58, of Alum Bridge passed away on Friday, August 12th, 2016 peacefully at home following an extended illness. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 11th, 1958: son of the late John Bucheimer, Jr. and wife, Anna Bucheimer.
James graduated from Severna Park High School in Severna Park, Maryland in 1976. He began his career in graphic art while living in Maryland and worked among family members. When he moved to West Virginia in 1996, he continued to work as a graphic artist. James later started his own graphic design business, Krafty Kat Designs, and designed for various publications across the state, including the West Virginia Executive magazine.
His other passion was Christian music which he collected. He played and wrote for several bands in Maryland when he was younger, the best known, Prophecy. James also played on worship teams for various churches he attended. These included Victory Assembly of God (Weston) and Rock Grove Baptist Church (Linn).
James is survived by his devoted wife, Diane Marie Bucheimer and their five daughters; Heather Marie Phares of Glenville, Tiffany Ann Tomey of Glenville, Melissa Brittany Bucheimer of Alum Bridge, Abigail Lynn Bucheimer of Burnsville, and Carrie Michelle Burgett of Buckhannon. He had five grandchildren; Anna Marie Tomey, William Robert Tomey, Mckenzie Michelle Burgett, Kathleenia Marie Posey, and Isaac Matthew Burgett. He is also survived by his two siblings, John “Jack” Ernest Bucheimer III, and Jean Marie Mettee, his nephew Christopher Mettee and niece Brin MacElwee.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home, 730 N. Main Avenue, Weston on Wednesday, August 24th, 2016 for fellowship time from 10-11 a.m.. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel presided by Pastor Doris Brunty.
