Clyta Clarabel “Peggy” Ellis, 94, of Weston passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2016 in Seller’s Personal Care Home of Jane Lew following an extended illness. She was born in Lewis County on May 28, 1921: daughter of the late William O. Fisher and Audra (Townsend) Fisher. On February 21, 1942, Peggy married James “Ted” Ellis, who preceded her in death on October 21, 2003.
Mrs. Ellis is survived by one brother: Rodney L. Fisher of Weston, two sisters: Regina Fisher of Florida and Sue Stout of Laurel, MD and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband Ted, Peggy was preceded in death by three brothers: Cecil, William and Jack Fisher.
Mrs. Ellis managed Montgomery Wards with 30 years of service. She was a member of St Matthew United Methodist Church of Weston and Fern Leaf Rebekah Lodge #101 of Weston. Peggy loved to travel, wintered in Florida, travel to Myrtle Beach and loved camping in the mountains.
Family and friends will be received at Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Sunday, March 13, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Kenny Fisher officiating assisted by Pastor Danny Fisher. Interment will follow services in the Weston Masonic Cemetery. On-line condolences and life stories in memory of Peggy may be expressed at hardman-palettifuneralhome.com.
