Betty Jean Hefner, 77, of Berlin Road Weston passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 in Mon General Hospital of Morgantown following a brief illness. She was born in Kedron, WV on July 24, 1938: daughter of the late Morgan Hart Newlon and Maude (Groves) Newlon and was raised by the late Wilbur and Grace Reed. On September 3, 1960, she married Harley Ronald Hefner, who preceded her in death on March 11, 2014.
Mrs. Hefner is survived by six sons: Gary Ronald (Debra) Hefner, Harley Allen (Dreama) Hefner, Terry Preston Hefner, and Bruce Leonard Hefner all of Berlin, Randy Hart (Jennifer) Hefner of Mt Clare, WV and Harley R. Hefner, II and girlfriend Michelle Miller of Bridgeport, WV and eleven grandchildren: Brian, Nastausha, Cetera, Haley, Jerrod, Makenna, Cody, Madison, Luke,and Makenzie and mom and dad's Yorkies, Nikki and Sadie.
Mrs. Hefner was a news director for WHAW Radio Station. She worked at Summit Center and was a bookkeeper for the Weston National Bank. She was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose #1376 of Weston, Berlin CEO, Berlin Rebecca Lodge and the Berlin United Methodist Church.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Friday, January 15, 2015 from 6-8p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Mark Anderson officiating. Interment will follow services in the Friendship Cemetery of the Berlin Community, WV.
