Obituary for James C. Ireland

James C.  Ireland
James Cosba Ireland, 88, of Weston, formerly of Alum Bridge, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 in Holbrook On The Hill Nursing Home of Buckhannon following an extended illness. He was born in Vadis on February 3, 1927: son of the late Otis Wayne Ireland and Lora Doris (Alfred) Ireland.
Mr. Ireland is survived by one daughter: Betty Jo(Donnie) Gum of Churchville, three sons: David Wayne (Charlotte) Ireland of Weston, James Roger (Kathy) Ireland of Alum Bridge and Raymond Earl (Susie) Ireland of Weston, 8 grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters: Agnes Potter and Carol (Albert) Crislip both of Weston, one daughter-in-law: Judy Ireland and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by one son: Thomas Michael “Huck” Ireland, one brother: Otis Wayne Ireland as a child and two sisters: Euleta Jones and Elda Ireland, as a child.
Mr. Ireland was a heavy equipment operator for Hope Gas Company for 23 years and truck driver for King Brothers. He was also a farmer and raised horses.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home of Weston on Friday, April 24, 2015 from 1-3 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 3 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Henry Rastle officiating. Interment will follow services in the Carder Cemetery of Vadis, WV. On-line condolences and life stories in memory of James may be expressed at hardman-palettifuneralhome.com.
