Betty Jo Myers, 84, of Weston passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Crestview Manor Nursing Home of Jane Lew following an extended illness. She was born in Lewis County on March 4, 1930: daughter of the late Arden Sayre and Vera (Morrison) Sayre and step mother: Marguerite (Linger) Sayre, who raised her after Arden’s death. On September 27, 1947, she married Paul Richard Myers, who preceded in death on May 1, 1978.
Betty was survived by one ½ brother: Kenny Drew Sayre, two sons: Rick (Christine) Myers and Gerry (Jennifer) Myers both of Weston, five grandchildren: Christal (Brian)Sparks of Ohio, Justin Myers of Georgia, Jared Myers of Weston , Katherine Myers of Maryland and Cpt. Paul Jones of Germany and three great grandchildren: Sheridan, Chance, and Dawson Bandy of Ohio. Betty was also preceded in death by three brothers: Jerry, Paul and Kemp Sayre.
Betty was a Certified Nurse’s Aide at Crestview Manor Nursing Home for 25 years and retired at age, 75. She attended St. Matthew United Methodist Church of Weston. She was a founding member of the Weston Eagles Auxillary #2481 where she was president in 1954, 1958 and 1963 and was WV State President from 1964-65. One of her favorite past times was Bingo.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Wednesday, January 21, 2915 from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Jonathan Nettles officiating. Interment will follow services in the Georgetown Cemetery of Horner, WV. On-line condolences and life stories in memory of Betty may be expressed at hardman-palettifuneralhome.com.
