Obituary for Harry James Barnhart

Harry James Barnhart, 80, of Reservoir Street Weston passed away on Monday, November 10, 2014 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born in Plant City, FL on February 24, 1934: son of the late Orton Barnhart, Sr. and Ida (Campbell) Barnhart. On June 10, 1955, he married Charlotte Ann (Butcher) Barnhart, who survives.
Mr. Barnhart is also survived by two daughters: Terry Ann (Fred) Ammermann of Lakeland, FL and Jean Marie (Greg) Vestri of Austin, TX, eight grandchildren: Paul (Brandy) Ammermann, Jeffrey Ammermann, Alex (Brittney) Ammermann, Rachel (Jacob) Connelly, Ariel Vestri, Drew Vestri, Jocelyn Vestri and Haley Vestri and five great grandchildren: Kayla Ammermann, Ashlyn Ammermann, Tyler Ammermann, Parker Ammermann and Evan Ammermann. He is also survived by one brother: Orton Barnhart, Jr. of Lakeland, FL, two sisters: June Kent of Alabama and Helen Graves of Plant City, FL and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Barnhart was preceded in death by one daughter: Karen Sue Barnhart and one infant son.
Mr. Barnhart was vice president of Audit at W.S. Babcock Company of Mulberry, FL.. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Weston where he was a deacon and sang in the church choir. Mr. Barnhart was a veteran of the United States Army. His hobbies included fishing, carpentry and woodworking and he was an accomplished cook. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Friday, November 14, 2014 from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Kenneth Miller officiating. Interment will follow services in the Peterson Cemetery of Weston, WV. Full military honors will be conducted by the Lewis County Honor Guard.
