Lucille Rastle, 90, of US Highway 33W Weston passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born in Weston on November 9, 1923: daughter of the late Mike Brockleman and Lucy (Henry) Brockleman. On August 30, 1946, she married Leon S. Rastle, who survives.
She is also survived by two sons: Phillip Rastle and wife Jane of Ashville, NC and David Rastle and wife Connie of Weston, three grandchildren: Stephanie (Rastle) Simpson and husband Marshall of Morgantown, WV, Jennifer (Rastle) Bidwell and husband Jason of Brockport, NY and Joseph Rastle and wife Tasha of Ashville, NC and five great-grandchildren: Mercedes, Malcolm and Madison Simpson and Hunter and Sophia Rastle. Mrs. Rastle is also survived by two sisters: Joanne “Pudge” Loudin of Kent, OH and Ruth Dale “Turtle” Davis of Weston and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by one granddaughter: Andrea Rastle, one brother: Wayne Brockleman, and five sisters: Hazel Herron, Jean Rastle, Irene Melton, Maxine “Pete” Ward and Sara Squires. She was also survived by her faithful friend and companion, Pooh.
Lucille Rastle and her husband Leon were co-founders and operators of Rastle’s Auto Parts of Weston and she also worked in the office at St. Joseph’s Hospital of Buckhannon, WV. She and her husband loved to farm and she especially loved her Hereford cattle. Lucille was a member of the Broad Street United Methodist Church of Weston. She loved flowers and especially roses.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Clifford West officiating. Interment will follow services in the Waldeck Church Cemetery of Waldeck community, WV. On-line condolences and life stories in memory of Lucille may be expressed at hardman-palettifuneralhome.com.
