Billie Eugene Blosser, 89, of Old Route 33 Weston passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family following an extended battle with COPD. He was born in Bretz, WV on April 15, 1928: son of the late William Henry Blosser and Minnie Edna (Schoonover) Blosser. On February 2, 1947, he married Violet Marie (Mace) Blosser, who preceded in death on March 8, 2009.
Mr. Blosser was blessed by three daughters: Betty Lou Roberts of Harper’s Ferry, Lois McGuire of Beckley and Connie Posey of Weston, two sons: James Blosser of Summersville, SC and Robert Lee Blosser (deceased), 8 grandchildren: Kimberly White, Michelle Barrett, John McGuire, Jason Blosser, Brandon McGuire, Jimmy Sprouse, Jonathan Roberts, and Brian Sprouse and 11 great grandchildren: Samantha Bradshaw, Amber Dove, Tyler Barrett, Stephen Mayo, Kaitlyn Barrett, Dylan Barrett, Shelby Sprouse, Bryson Sprouse, Jaxson Roberts, Braydon Blosser, and Jordyn Roberts. He is also survived by one sister: Bonnie Shingleton of Michigan and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, wife, Violet and son: Robert Lee, Mr. Blosser was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 7 sisters.
Mr. Blosser was a retired strip miner from Barbour Coal and Vecilo Coal Companies and had also worked for Penn Line. Billie was a member of the Stone Coal United Methodist Church where the young kids would come to him for the candy that he gave out. Mr. Blosser enjoyed doing odd jobs for people in the community and working in his wood working shop where he made all kinds of wood crafts and furniture. Mr. Blosser loved his family- wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister and nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 3-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1:30 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Bob King officiating.
