James  Carl "Jim"  Robison
James Carl “Jim” Robison, 86, went home to Farm, Hunt, and Fish the Hills and Valleys of Heaven on Sunday, July 15, 2018. He was born on April 5, 1932 in Calhoun County, WV. Jim was the son and fourth child of the late William Earl and Hettie Marshall Robison. On February 27, 1953 he married Norma Elizabeth Shallenberger, who preceded him in death on December 3, 1988. On April 7, 1990, Jim married Alma L. Gregory Robison, who survives.
Jim is also survived by four daughters: Joyce Ann Collins & husband David of Jane Lew; Caroline Graham and husband Cyril of Washington, WV; Gina Hess and husband Charles of Brunswick, GA and Carla Boord of Clarksburg, 11 grandchildren: Heather (Steve) Montgomery, Jamie Cavins, Dustin Cavins, Zella Graham, Samantha (Roger) Jordan, Michael (Amber) Robinson, Marian Hess, Ginger (Ross) Silva, Stephen, Abby and Joseph Coakley, 13 great grandchildren: Lora, Anthony, Brittany, Alexis, Madisyn, Kennedy, Neil, Lillian, Dalton, Brooklynn, Caleb, Emmelea, and Mason and 1 great great grandson: Gavlin. Jim was also survived by 2 sisters: Lucille Hicks of Berlin and Juanita Posey of Weston and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and first wife, Norma, Jim was preceded in death by one son: Clint Coakley, 2 sisters: Bernadine Tucker and Wilma Sibray and 2 brothers: Lawrence Robinson and Ralph Robison.
Earlier in Jim’s career, he worked for B & O Railroad. After the railroad, he then started work for Equitable Gas Company where he retired in gas measurement. Mr. Robison was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict.
He was a graduate of Weston High School with the class of 1951. He was a member of Broad Run Baptist Church of Jane Lew where he served as a deacon and a trustee and was also a member of the Board of the Broad Run Church Cemetery where he served as a trustee. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. Besides family, one of his greatest joys was farming.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Bill Coffindaffer officiating. Interment will follow services in the Broad Run Church Cemetery of Jane Lew, WV. Full military honors will be provided by the United States Army and the Lewis County Honor Guard.
