Roberta A. Harris, affectionately known as “Bobbie”, passed away peacefully at the age of 91, on Friday, June 1, 2018, under the loving and compassionate care of Sherry Sellers and her daughter Joannie at Country Living Personal Home Care and West Virginia Hospice.
Bobbie was born March 5, 1927, in Mount Clare, WV to Rector William Allen and Chloe Blanche Webb Allen. She was preceded in death by her dear husband Gus Harris, and her five siblings Porter Allen, Eulah Shepherd, Hazel Allen, Ruth Frush and Faye Rogers, with whom she will be reunited. She is survived by her four devoted children, George Harris, Roger Harris, Lee Hall and Cindy Sims, their spouses Patricia Harris, Judy Harris and Jeff Sims, niece and nephews Donald Shepherd and Gary and Sarah Frush, her grandchildren Steve Harris, Chris Ann Sandy, Dan and Jessica Sims, Ian Hall and Kellyn Leveton, Logan Hall, Chris and Jessica Harris, her great-grandchildren Phillip, Sierra and Sianna Sandy, Kelsey and Chloe Harris, and Baby, her beloved cat.
A lifelong resident of West Virginia, Bobbie’s family, friends and pets were her greatest joys in life. She will most lovingly be remembered as the strong, spirited, independent, intelligent, funny, kind and caring woman she was. Her positivity was infectious, she shared her love freely with whomever was in her company, and treated everyone with kindness and respect. She will be missed immeasurably by all those whose life she touched.
A family celebration of Bobbie’s life will be held later this month. To honor her memory, please do something special for someone you love. Memorial donations can be made to West Virginia Caring hospice care. Bobbie’s family would like to express their utmost gratitude for her companions who stayed with her and helped her in her later years: Charlene Wiant, April Montgomery, Linda Corley and Lana Craig.
Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home of Weston is honored and privileged to serve the family of Roberta A. Harris.
