Obituary for Mary Jo Williams (Williams)

Mary Jo Williams, 79, of Alum Bridge passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018 at her residence following a brief illness. She was born in Lewis County on May 24, 1938: daughter of the late Scott Williams and Blanche (Shackleford) Williams.
Miss Williams is survived by one sisters Betty Williams and one brother James Williams who both live with her in Alum Bridge at a family residence. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary Jo was preceded in death by four brothers: Bernard, Paul, John and Ray Williams, two sisters: Ocie Williams and Violet Swiger, two ½ sisters: Zelma Williams and Virginia Kerns and two ½ brothers: Harold Williams and Dell Hefner.
Miss Williams was a homemaker. She enjoyed tending her flower garden and working in her vegetable garden. Mary Jo loved to quilt and make all sorts of crafts. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Russell Furr officiating. Interment will follow services in the Hiney Hill Church Cemetery in Gilmer County. On-line condolences and life stories in memory of Mary Jo may be expressed at hardman-palettifuneralhome.com.
