Elizabeth Ellen Blake, 77, of Weston passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2017 in Holbrook on the Hill Nursing Home of Buckhannon following an extended illness. She was born in Lewis County on August 24, 1940: daughter of the late Hubert Duncan and Virginia (Cottrill) Duncan. On August 30, 1957, she married Lijah Johnnie (Doc) Blake, who preceded her in death on October 29, 2011.
Mrs. Blake is survived by one daughter: Patricia Blake Queen and husband Steve of Weston, three sons: Gary Lynn Blake and Robert Lee Blake both of Weston and William Blake and wife Suzanne of Shepherdstown, 9 grandchildren: Mistey Rhoades, Travis Queen, Tanner Blake, Corbin Blake, Abbie Blake, Morgan Blake, Sarah Blake, Megan Rhoades and Will Trent and one great grandchild: McKenna Rhoades. She is also survived by one brother: Hubert “Bud” (Becky) Duncan of Good Hope, two sisters: Joann Donaldson of Weston and Carolyn Miller of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Doc, Elizabeth was preceded in death by one brother: James Duncan.
Mrs. Blake was homemaker. She was dedicated to her family- children, grandchildren, great grandchild, brother, sisters and nieces and nephews. She loved and cared for all of them to the very end. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 from 4-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Chaplain Gary Rapking officiating. Interment will follow services in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens of Jane Lew, WV. On-line condolences and life stories in memory of Elizabeth may be expressed at hardman-palettifuneralhome.com.
