Obituary for Norma Marie Godfrey (Farnsworth)

Norma Marie Godfrey, 74, of Spencer, WV passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 in Roane General Hospital of Spencer following an extended illness. Mrs. Godfrey was born in Buckhannon on July 1, 1943: daughter of the late Donald Alvin Farnsworth and Wanda Collene (Frazee) Farnsworth. Norma Jean was married to Junior Godfrey, who preceded her in death in 2003.
Mrs. Godfrey is survived by three children: Opal Denise Riffle of Spencer, Cindy Marie Hood of Walkersville and Robert L. Williams of Fredericksburg, VA, two special grandchildren: Norman Lee and Jeannie Williams, 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She is also survived by four brothers: John Edgar Farnsworth of Farmington, OH, Ricky Gay Farnsworth of Buckhannon, Samuel Leslie Farnsworth of Weston and Kevin Earl Farnsworth of Coleman, AL, four sisters: Margaret Louise Parker of Gassaway, Vera Mae Butcher of Weston, Geneva Jo Waggy of Linn and Gertrude Denise Farnsworth of Weston and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Junior, Mrs. Godfrey was preceded in death by one daughter: Tabitha Collene Willams, one son: William Wade Farnsworth, four brothers: James Ronald, Donald Alvin, Vernon Lee and Phillip Dale Farnsworth and two sisters: Dorothy Ann Farnsworth and Ruby Farnsworth.
Mrs. Godfrey was a homemaker. Her hobbies included making chairs, Christmas ornaments and other crafts. Her greatest joy was family- children, great and great great grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews. She loved them all and will be missed by all!
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Monday, September 18, 2017 from 12-1 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Brad Petty officiating.
