Obituary for John Michael Hemmings
John Michael Hemmings, 64, of Abrams Run Road Walkersville passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017 in UPMC- Presbyterian Hospital of Pittsburgh, PA following a brief illness. He was born in Kanawha County on April 11, 1953: son of JoAnn Withrow and stepfather: Jerry Withrow. On June 24, 1978, he married Linda (Skeen) Hemmings, who survives.
He is also survived by two daughters: April Riley of Weston and Tara Merisier of Walkersville and one grandchild: Tyler Vaughan. John is also survived by one sister: Billie Jo Rowsey of Teays Valley, WV and mother-in-law: Eunice Skeen of Walkersville.
Mr. Hemmings was a truck driver with Hawg Hauling, Equipment Transport and Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company. He was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School of Charleston, WV. Mr. Hemmings was a veteran of the United States Navy. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
