Virginia Frances Myers Wiant, 86, of 733 Lynn Avenue Weston passed away on Monday, July 16, 2012 in Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital of Weston following an extended illness. She was born in Braxton County on March 30, 1926: daughter of the late Benjamin F. Cogar and Bessie Dell (Knight) Cogar. Virginia first married Robert E. Myers, who passed away, She then married James E. Wiant, who also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Wiant is survived by three daughters: Thelma (Gene) Bailey of Jane Lew, Phyllis Collins of Canton, OH and Carol Ricketts of Horner and two sons: Phillip Myers of Weston and Robert (Joyce) Myers of Jane Lew. She is survived by 5 grandchildren: Matthew, Christie, Becky, Melanie and Bobby and 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother: Beecher (Oleta) Cogar of Canton, OH, several nieces and nephews and a caregiver and special friend: Cathy Wilt.
Mrs. Wiant retired as a Psychiatric Aide III from Weston State Hospital with 27 years of service. She loved her cats. Virginia spent her life always giving of herself to others.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Russell Furr officiating.
