Obituary for William Joseph "Bill" Roff

William Joseph “Bill” Roff was called home by his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 10, 2021. Bill was born in Weston WV the son of the late William McClelland Roff and Mary Lee Barker Roff Federle.
He was also preceded in death by one grandson Bryon Joseph Roff.

Bill will be waiting in Heaven for his wife of 53 years, Tonna Wanda Booth Roff, his son Col. William Joseph Roff, Jr. and his wife Cherie, his daughter Wanda Ann White and her husband Michael, his grandson Garrette Roff and his wife Nicole, and his granddaughters McKenzie Roff, Kassandria White, and Allison White. Bill had one sister Donna Lee Watson and her husband John, his brother-in-law Henry Booth and wife Brenda, and brother-in-law Malcolm Booth, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Bill built a large family over the years that included great neighbors, his fellow hunting buddies, and co-workers.

Bill was a graduate of Lewis County High School and Draft Tech College. He served eight years in the US Army National Guard. Bill worked as a Draftsman for NASA at Cape Canaveral and retired from the Verizon Phone Company after 35 years of dedicated work. He was a member of the Broad Run Baptist Church, a retired trustee of the Broad Baptist Cemetery, and a member of the Lewis-Upshur Branch of the Gideons.

Bill enjoyed spending time with his hunting buddies, taking several trips with them throughout the years along with running his German Shorthaired Pointers. On of Bill’s proudest moments was winning the 2014 UFTA Nationals in Alabama. He also enjoyed helping his neighbors, traveling, and spending time with family.

Bill’s wish for cremation has been honored by Hardman Family Funeral Home. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
