Obituary for William Lawrence Kemper

William Lawrence Kemper, 85, of Camden, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 23, 1936 in Camden, WV son of the late Hugh Kemper and Opal (Bush) Kemper. On June 28, 1963, William married Edna Jane (Moore) Kemper who preceded him in death on August 11, 2021.

Forever cherishing their memories of William are 3 children: Pam Kemper of Weston, Dianna (DP) Jones of Nelson, VA and Doug Kemper of Camden, 10 grandchildren: Kyle Grose, Kayla Layne, Kara Grose, Julie Jones Aiken, Jennifer Jones Jackson, Samuel Jones, Christie Jones Patterson, Nate Kemper, Isaac Kemper and Emily Kemper, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters: Justine Rogers of Arnoldsburg, WV and Joanne Wiant of South Carolina, 1 brother: James Kemper of Weston and several nieces and nephews. William had an angel as a caregiver, Karen Hardman, and a special thanks to Dawn Fraser.

William was a graduate of Weston High School class of 1954. He retired from CNG Oil and Gas/Dominion after 23 years of service. William was a member of the Freemansburg United Methodist Church. William was a very active farmer and gardner. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and WV Cattleman’s Association. William was a lifetime supporter of the 4H and FFA. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Family and friends will gather at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue, Weston on Monday, October 18, 2021 from 5-7pm. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 11am from the funeral home chapel with Reverend Kenny Kendall officiating.
