Obituary for William Claude Ford

William Claude Ford, 90, of Jane Lew, WV passed away on Sunday, March 7th, 2021 at the West Virginia Veterans Nursing Facility in Clarksburg, WV. He was born in Fairmont, WV on October 29th, 1930 to the late Claude H. Ford and Ruby (Rogers) Ford. William was united in marriage on May 19th, 1972 to Eva (Hull) Ford, who survives.

William is also survived by 3 sons: Michael W. Ford (Barbara) of Stevensville, MI, James E. Ford (Annie) of Fairmont, WV and Daniel W. Ford (Ronda) of Mannington, WV, a daughter Cathy Shutler (Duane) of Mannington, WV, 9 grandchildren: Shawn Ford (Melissa) of Maineville, OH, Kyle Ford (Alicia) of Coloma, MI, Nicole Sonja Jupin and Michele Louise White of Hardin, KY, Ashley Ford of Morgantown, WV, Lucas Ford (Savannah) of Mannington, WV, Sara Louise Shutler, Brandon Jacob Shutler and Brittany Elizabeth Shutler of Manninton, WV and Daniel Wayne Ford II of Mannington, WV, 15 great-grandchildren, a step daughter Marsha (Tom) DeVecchis of Weirton, WV, a step-grandson Eric (Sara) DeVecchis of Weirton, WV and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Evelyn J. Baumann and Dorothy Ford Hudkins.

William was a graduate of East Fairmont High School with the class of 1948. After graduating high school, William enlisted in the United States Navy and was a Hospital Corpsman during the Korean Conflict. Following his military services, he went to work for Mon Power and retired as a supervisor with 40+ years of service. William joined the Masonic Lodge in 1968, and was a member of the Nemesis Shrine Temple and the Royal Order of Jesters both of Parkersburg, WV. He enjoyed playing cards with his fellow Shriner members and golfing.

Family and friends will be received at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston, WV on Thursday, March 11th, 2021 from 1:00PM-2:00PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00pm with Reverend Brian Plum officiating. Interment will follow services at Lewis County Memorial Garden of Weston, WV with full Military Honors conducted by the United States Navy and the Lewis County Honor Guard.
