Obituary for Viva Elaine White (Mick)
Viva Elaine White, 90, of Weston passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018 on Colonial Place of Elkins following an extended illness. She was born in Gilmer County on August 31, 1928: daughter of Dewey Mick and Midget (Wiant) Mick. On May 7, 1949, she married Oris White, who preceded her in death on June 24, 2007.
Viva is survived by one sister-in-law: Sandy Mick of Weston, ten nieces and nephews: Alvin (Kay) Mick, Scott Mick, Kevin (Linda) Mick, Deborah Lough, Janet (Don) Casteel, Christie Wilson, Mark (Susie) Houghton and Fred, Steve and Laura Roush, and several great and great great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband Oris, Viva was preceded in death by one brother: Ronald Mick and two sisters: Viuca Roush and Viola Houghton.
Mrs. White was office manager of Weston Livestock Sales for over 45 years. Previously, she worked at Montgomery Ward in Baltimore, MD. She was a graduate of Weston High School and a member of Stone Coal United Methodist Church of Weston. Her hobbies were cooking, sewing and she always kept dogs. Viva was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Sunday, December 23, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Chaplain Bryan Headley officiating. Interment will follow services in the Weston Masonic Cemetery.
