Obituary for Theresa Veronica "Ronnie" Brumley

Ronnie Brumley, age 83, passed away on July 13, 2022 at her residence of 118 Railroad Street, Weston. She was born in Lewis County on April 26, 1939, the youngest daughter of James W. Hines and Mary A. (Rowgh) Hines who preceded her in death in 1975 and in 2000. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Mary Eileen Stout of Weston in 2008. Ronnie graduated with the class of 1956 from St. Patrick’s High School in Weston.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Francis A. (Junior) Brumley, three children, son Stephen A. Brumley and his wife Rita of Columbus, OH, son Michael A. Brumley and his wife Beth of Charleston, WV and daughter Catherine M. Mezera and her husband Chad of Morgantown, WV.

Ronnie is also survived by six grandchildren, Matthew Brumley and wife Abby of Washington, PA; Sarah Gallagher and husband Liam of Pittsburgh, PA; John Brumley of Morgantown, WV; Kristin Story and husband Robert of Delaware, OH; Nathan Brumley and wife Becky of Lancaster, OH; and Justin Brumley and wife Carrie of White Lake, MI as well as five great grandchildren, Joel Brumley, Ezra Brumley, James Brumley, Jude Brumley and Eamon Gallagher. She is also survived by one nephew, James Stout and wife Kim of Washington, PA; a great nephew, Mike Stout and a great niece, Beth Stout.

Ronnie and Junior recently retired after owning the Jr’s Pit and Shine car wash and oil change center located on West 2nd Street in Weston. Ronnie also retired from past careers as a real estate agent with Garton Real Estate and from a long association working in the retail grocery business, including Foodland and Garden Fresh.

She proudly maintained her original family property that her descendants settled (called the Irish Homestead) in Alum Bridge, WV and was awarded the West Virginia Century Farms designation in 2012 that recognizes families that have been farming the same tract of land for at least 100 years.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Weston and the Catholic Daughters where she recently was awarded a 60-year service pin.

Family and friends will be received at the Hardman Family Funeral Home in Weston on Sunday, July 17, 2022 from 4 - 7 pm. The rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Weston at 10 am on Monday, July 18, 2022 with Reverend Father Douglas A. Ondeck as Celebrant, followed by internment at the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Jane Lew, WV. The family asks that donations be considered to the St. Patrick’s Grade School at 224 Center Avenue in Weston in lieu of flowers.
