Obituary for Thelma Gay Butcher (Heater)

Thelma Gay Butcher, 78, of Weston passed away at her residence on Thursday, September 3rd, 2020. She was born in Lewis County on February 12th, 1942 to the late Lloyd G. Heater and Gladys Myrtle (Cochran) Heater. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years William Butcher.

Mrs. Butcher is survived by 2 daughters: Pamela Nicholson and husband Jeffrey of Weston, WV and Shonda McVay of Buckhannon, WV, 3 grandchildren: Dustin Nicholson, Adam McVay, and Kacie Tallman, 1 great-grandchild: Bryson McVay, and 2 brothers: Larry and Carl Heater of Weston, WV and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a special companion of 17 years Alton “AP” Heath and a very special friend Leone Skinner. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by 2 brothers: Gale and Jerry Heater.

She was a graduate of Weston High School in 1960. She was a housewife and loving daughter, mother, grandmother and aunt to her family. She enjoyed planting and watching her flowers grow, camping, and cooking. She will be missed by many.

Friends and family will be received at Hardman Family Funeral Home, 730 North Main Avenue Weston, WV 26452 on Monday, September 7th, 2020 from 11:00-1:00pm. A private family funeral service will be held at 1:00pm from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mike Riffle officiating.
