Obituary for Teddy Gene Harrison
Teddy Gene Harrison, 72, of Weston passed away on Friday, September 6, 2019 in Crestview Nursing Home of Jane Lew surrounded by his loving wife and caring friend.. He was born in Cleveland, WV on March 25, 1947: son of the late Wilbur Steerman and Marcus Maxine (Harrison) Stalnaker. On November 24, 1993, he married Debra (Greenlief) Harrison, who survives.
Teddy is also survived by four step children: Kimberly Dawn Eagle, Joseph Greenlief and wife Patty and Jimmy Greenlief and wife Cheri all of Weston and Jason Greenlief of Jane Lew and three step grandsons and one step granddaughter. He is also survived by two brothers: Delmas Lee Stalnaker and Gary Paul Stalnaker both of Weston, one sister: Pamela Ann Smith and husband Bud also of Weston and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Teddy was preceded in death by one sister: Mary Friend.
Mr. Harrison was a glassworker with the Louie Glass Factory of Weston. He and Debra attended the Fairview United Methodist Church on Elk Lick in Lewis County until it closed. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he received the rank of Combat Engineer Specialist (SP4).
Teddy enjoyed hunting and fishing and was especially good at woodworking. He loved spending time with family and helping others. He also had a special friend, Morris the cat.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Monday, September 9, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Russell Furr officiating. Interment will follow services at Lewis County Memorial Gardens (former Weston Masonic Cemetery).
