Obituary for Stanley Eugene Cumberledge

Stanley Eugene Cumberledge, 71, of Weston passed away on Saturday December 4th, 2021 at Mon General Hospital. He was born on August 20th, 1950 in Clarksburg, to the late Olan George Cumberledge and Lucille Paulene (Lynch) Cumberledge and step mother: the late Pauline (James) Cumberledge. Stanley was united in marriage on April 10th, 1981, to Mildred R. (Thompson) Cumberledge, who survives.

Cherishing the life of Stanley is his wife Mildred, two children: Stephanie Lucille Moore and Steven Eugene Cumberledge and wife Karen of Clarksburg, 6 grandchildren, and 1 sister Pauline Leonard of Salem and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 1 sister.

Stanley was a graduate of Doddridge County High School. He was Baptist by faith. Stanley worked as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator for Dick Harper and Hardman’s Trucking Company. He enjoyed gardening and doing carpentry work. Most of all, Stanley was a dedicated husband and loved taking care of his wife.

Family and friends will gather at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Wednesday, December 8th, 2021 from 12 PM-2PM. The funeral service will begin at 2PM from the funeral home chapel with Reverend Russell Furr officiating. Interment will follow services at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Jane Lew.
