Obituary for Sonya Lee Weaver
Sonya Lee Weaver, 54, of Weston went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 16th, 2021. She was born in Clarksburg on February 14, 1967 and was the loving daughter of Quinton Weaver, Jr. and Sarah D. (Strader) Weaver of Weston, WV. She is survived by her parent’s, and by her fiancée Vernon Hughes and his son Caleb. She enjoyed her cat Tigger and dog Dinky Di who will miss her.
She was a graduate of Dickinson High School of Dickinson, TX. She received her nursing degree in Houston, TX. Sonya worked in the home health care field. When she came to Weston, she went to work at Shop N. Save where she was a cashier and loved to visit with the customers and felt her mission there was to pray with those who needed encouragement. Sonya was a giving and caring soul and will be missed by family and all those she encouraged. She was a member and was active at the Weston Church of God. She attended church events and retreats with her Mom.
She helped her parents build their timber frame home in Weston. She was a hard worker, always lending a hand where needed, often before being asked. Sonya was a kind and generous individual who could bring laughter and good times to any gathering.
Sonya loved adventure! She was never afraid to try anything. After high school, she spent some time backpacking through Europe and lived in St Thomas for a while. She loved the water…fishing, skiing, boating, skydiving, riding motorcycles, hiking and camping. She went skydiving with her Dad. Sonya will be dearly missed by all who knew her and loved her shining smile.
Family and friends will be received at Hardman Family Funeral Home on Sunday, March 21st 2021 from 4-6 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Monday, March 22nd at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Randall Hughes and Pastor Bob Hoover officiating.
