Obituary for Shirley Jean Hall (Harrison)
It is with peaceful hearts that the family of Shirley Jean (Harrison) Hall, share the news of her passing on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at her home in Hickory, NC. Shirley was born November 3, 1937, the daughter of the late Edna Opal (Swisher) and Charles Thomas Harrison. Also preceding her in death are her husband Edwin (Ned) Hall, 3 brothers, Johnny Joe, Bob and Dick Harrison, 2 sisters, Jo Ann Miles and Dottie Garton, 3 grandsons, Jimmy Joe Hall, Jeremy Brightbill and Thomas Tyler Hall II and her companion of 20+ years, William (Bill) Boggess, Jr.
Shirley was survived by siblings Gary Harrison of PA, Jimmy (Cindy) Harrison of FL, and Linda Pierpont of MD. Also surviving are her children Tom Hall of Sanford, NC, Susan (Boots) Staples of Raleigh, NC, Jana (David) Gissy of Hickory, NC, and Joe (Pam) Hall of Weston, 2 sisters in laws, Marlene Harrison and Kim Harrison-Edwards and extended family Shelia Sayre and Bud Boggess. Shirley was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Shirley was a lifelong resident of Weston, only in recent years making her permanent home in Hickory, NC. Shirley is best remembered for her home cooking. A passion she carried into a successful restaurant and catering business. Shirley leaves behind her treasured 4-legged companion, Toby, whom she loved.
In gratitude of the compassionate hospice care Shirley received, contributions can be made in her honor to Carolina Caring, 3975 Robinson Road, Building 3, Suite A, Newton, NC 28658. The family especially wishes to acknowledge the selflessness in which her grandson Michael and wife Angelica tended to her medical needs, personal care and comfort to allow her the dignity to leave this earth in a way she so richly deserved.
Family and friends will be received at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston, WV on Thursday, March 31, 2022 from 6PM-8PM. A Celebration of her life will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022 at 10AM from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jay Burkhart officiating.
