Obituary for Sheila Kay Frazier (Polan)

Sheila Kay Frazier, 77, of Lost Creek went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, November 25th, 2021 in St. Joseph’s Hospital of Buckhannon. She was born in Doddridge County on February 27th, 1944: daughter of the late Adren Samuel Polan and Ellen Marie (Nicholson) Polan. On October 9th, 1964, she married Donald Frazier, who preceded her in death in August of 2013.

Her memory will always be cherished by her two daughters, Donna Syrews and husband Kenneth of Berlin, and Anna Butcher and husband Steven of Jane Lew; 8 grandchildren, Bill and Don Trippett, Kendra Hicks and husband Chad, Kenny and Wesley Syrews, Andrew Butcher and wife Tamara, and Anthony and Savanna Butcher; 14 great grandchildren, Payten, Kole, Paige, and Katie of Don, Aiden, Tucker, Kimberly, Chase, and Gavin of Bill, Zoey of Kendra and Chad, Aiden of Wesley, Liliana and Sargon of Andrew and Tamara.

She is also survived by 4 siblings; Tommie Harris of Buckhannon, Shelbia Groves of Sutton, Delcie Jewell and husband Charles of Defiance, OH, Beverly Arps and husband Marvin of Napoleon, OH, 1 sister-in-law; Ester Polan of Weston, OH and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband Donald, Sheila was preceded in death by; one daughter, Kimberly Diane Trippett, one brother, Edward Polan, and one sister, Mary Wright.

Sheila worked at the Colonial Glass Factory and retired from the Louie Glass Factory of Weston. She was a graduate of Jane Lew High School with the class of 1963. She taught clogging for the Central Connection Cloggers to students as young as 2, and the group performed all over the state. Sheila and her husband were active in Professional Bass Tournaments where they won state and national championships over the years. They were the 1998 ABA Bass Association Champions at Pickwick Lake in Alabama and came in 20th in the national competition. Sheila was a member of the Jane Lew Lion’s Club for years, and she volunteered at the Jane Lew Senior Citizen’s Community Center. She was an active member of the West Milford Evangelical Free Church where she volunteered by making prayer quilts and donating them to the church for various church members who were sick. Sheila will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Family and friends will be received at the Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Monday, November 29th, 2021 from 4-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 30th, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. from the Hardman Family Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Chad Metz officiating. Interment will follow services in the Broad Run Baptist Church Cemetery of Jane Lew, WV. On-line
