Obituary for Sharon K. Toms (Kyer)

Sharon K. (Kyer) Toms, 70, of Weston passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2020 (her birthday) at her home surrounded by her husband and family. She had fought a courageous 6 year battle with cancer. She was born in Lewis County on February 15, 1950: daughter of the late Smith General Kyer and Mary Josephine (Burkhammer) Kyer. On October 29, 2000, she married Nelson “Pete” Toms, who survives.

Sharon is also survived by one son: Roy Todd Riffle of Fairmont, several grandchildren, two brothers: Joseph Kyer and William “Hoppy” Kyer both of Weston, five sisters: Nancy Suter, Martha Fleming and Alma “Dunnie” Watson all of Fairmont, Jackie Stewart of New Concord, OH and Kellie Sions of Moorefield, several nieces and nephews and her special little dog, Missy. She was preceded in death by three brothers and 1 sister.

Mrs. Toms was a private homecare provider. She enjoyed collecting pig figurines. She loved the outdoors where she loved camping and 4-wheel riding.

Family and friends will be received at the Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. from the Hardman Family Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Andy Sions officiating. Interment will follow services in the Simpson-Gaston Cemetery on Sassafras Road in Lewis County.
