Obituary for Sharon Kay Campbell

Sharon Kay Campbell, 71, of Weston passed away on Sunday, November 1st, 2020 at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital. She was born on January 17th, 1949 in Lewis County to the late William Emery Turner and Cora Alice (Metz) Turner. Sharon was united in marriage for many years to the late Mitchell Campbell.

Sharon is survived by 1 daughter: Tonja Chandler of Maysville, WV, 2 sons: Todd Campbell and wife Tammie of Vandalia, WV and Tyrone Campbell and wife Amy of Jackson’s Mill, WV, 2 grandchildren: Tyson Chandler and Payton Campbell, 2 great-grandchildren: Wyatt Chandler and Maggie Chandler, 1 sister: Bernadine Johnson of Weston, WV, 2 brothers: James Turner and wife Olene of Murphy’s Creek, WV and Ronnie Turner and wife Linda of Weston, WV, and 2 sister-in-laws: Judy Turner of Weston, WV and Rita Turner of Jane Lew, WV and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sharon was also preceded in death by 3 sisters: Shirley Turner, Mary Wright and Betty Golden and 2 brothers: George Turner and David Turner.

Sharon was a faithful member of the Murphy’s Creek Baptist Church. She was a dedicated and retired Respiratory Therapist from Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital. In addition to her position at SJMH, Sharon also worked in the home care oxygen field. Sharon loved her job and during her years was elected Employee of the month. She was a member of the Respiratory Care Association and served as Chief of her department for 3 years. She was selected for this honor because of her many years of dedication to the hospital, her professional attitude, her skill while working with patients, and her willingness to assist other departments when needed. Sharon’s work family was very special to her. Sharon enjoyed golfing and caring for her dogs, Arkie, Sissy and Bernie which she loved very much. As her illness progressed, she was blessed with 3 wonderful caregivers Beverly Taylor, Carla Blake Wyant and her niece Jean Holcomb. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

Sharon’s request for cremation has been honored at Hardman Family Funeral Home of Weston, WV. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic no service will be held at this time. Online condolences and life stories in memory of Sharon may be expressed at hardmanfamilyfuneralhome.com.
